Sometimes I forget where I posted and dread appearing rude in not answering someone's post, some thread seem so similar also, and worse if the post was in answer to an off topic post within a post etc.
Anyone else have this problem
Apologies in advance to any replies I have overlooked....

Hi Vic. have the same problem. I can only get on the forum for short spells and have found many old postd/threads i should have answered. In fact there was one from you maybe 12 months ago in reference to our WA trip that i found only recently. so i owe you an apology as well. You can see that i'm home alone at present. Have not been able to access the forum this long for ages.

Often have that problem - especially as some of the posts here meander around all over the place! But always a laugh!

Me too, have the same problem. So I open everyone that has a new post added and scroll through reading everything since I last opened it. Hopefully that way I don't miss too many.

if you go into user details it should show you where you posted or search your name in the search part and that should help out too, hope that helps

Thanks for the tip Milo,
I don't always have the time to search them all, the only way out of it I can see is if I don't post so much, ha ha!
And I can't bear the thought of that Wombat getting away with one of his digs at me, lol !
John, you can see we got our horses out of the same paddock, ha ha.......have a few more somewhere, for those that don't know where, the "paddock" or "paddocks" are on the Tin Horse Highway (comes up on google) in WA, bit of a contest between farmers whose adjoining paddocks display these near the road.

Me too Chichi - though I sometimes skip over the technical ones, unless they interest me.

I always subscribe to any post that I participate in, or am just interested in seeing further updates on.
At the top right of the screen (scroll all the way up) there is a 'subscribe' button. It sends me an email anytime there is a reply. At least that way, I can methodically work through emails knowing that I'm not missing anything.

I gave that up ages ago. This forum in particular is so active, that if I was out of range for a day or so, my inbox was struggling under the load.

Me too Pam, I have a download limit so need to limit what comes into my inbox, would help though.

Vic, I don't have a limit....but when I added the forum update emails to the number that I normally receive, If I was offline for a day, that meant pages of emails. It may not work for everyone...but I find it easier this way.

Yep, me too, no limit, but get heaps of emails (do some work on here as well, which comes via email) - would not have time to check them all out - I have notification from here re "what's this place", but that is all, more fun to go through the forum, and check out who is on and where they are.

Vic, grab a program called MailWasher, make sure you get the free version, with this installed you can view your emails on your server before you download, you can also automatically delete emails from the MW program before you download your emails, you can also manually delete your emails before you download your emails, so no big email downloading and you limit is not used up too quick.
Easy program to set up, I've been using it for 8-9 years, I have the Pro version, just give's you more options.
PS if somebody sends you a large picture you can see the size before you download and make a decision if you want to have it or delete it, or leave it on your server until you have more download limit, say the following month when your limit is full.

Why not simply go to......USERS DETAILS.........top of screen......then on left......click..... MEMBERS POSTS......and all your posts are listed there

Thanks for the tips all. I know you can go to your providers inbox and do much the same as what Wombat says, pick those you want to open and dump the rest, but still time consuming.
Good tip Dave, but it doesn't show the last poster and you still need to open the link to see whether anyone else has answered.
I might just restrict my posts, might be best for me......

Vic, in some forums, each time you log in to the forum, a little star (only visible to you) shows beside any posts that you have contributed to.
I don't know whether this particular forum is compatible with that system or not, but it could be worth asking Cindie about it.
Please don't restrict your posts...I enjoy them...
Cheers.

Thanks Pam, I enjoy others posts too, that's why this is one of the best forums IMHO.....I think a tag shows against any threads or posts you have made, but the star bit sounds good. I won't bother Cindy, she has a lot on her plate, but a good thought!

I enjoy them all, and I often forget where I have contributed a post. I prefer to read your posts and contribute if I can be helpful. I do get a bit annoyed by the useless stuff, but even that can be entertaining. Going off topic is typical here and part of the attraction. Someone brings it back on track eventually, sometimes. So don't feel bad if you forget where you posted.

I use the 'subscribe' button, so only lose a post if I forget to click. Yes, sometimes I have a lot of emails, but I don't receive a huge amount of other emails anyway, and I have no limit.
When the subscribed thread fizzles out or gets boring,,sorry, but sometimes they do,,then I just unsubscribe.
Now excuse me while I click subscribe...

Thanks for all the hints and tips folks, will try them all, but still accept my apology's in case I miss one here and there, or you can pm me and give me an earful if you wish.......sometimes my posts are not acknowledged too, I think that is par for the course, and sometimes you are not sure whether a post requires an answer and don't want to fill a thread with needless posts.....
