Finally made decisions, unbelievable, I was thinking this would never happen lol.
Rick did major research into the vehicle. If you remember previous postings we needed something we could put the big FJR Yamaha motor bike in or on.
We test drove many and researched reviews on all. Fuel economy was a major ask, apart from room for the bike. We decided on a Hyundai iLoad 2010. It has lots of additions; tinted windows all around (is a commercial van and usually only has driver and passenger windows), fully carpeted and sound proofed back area, wind resisters on the front side windows and anchor fixtures in the floor at rear for the bike (previously used to hold a wheel chair stable). Also a back seat for passengers and Scamp which can fold down for ease of fitting the bike in.
Fantastic fuel economy with the diesel turbo engine, olnly 35,000 on the clock and 3.5 years of new car warranty left. Just love it.
The van we finally purchased came as a fluke. I can't say how many we looked at but I was getting fed up. Then we decided let's start basic and work up to what we feel we will need later on. We got a great deal on a Jayco Eagle with stacks of extras, annex etc. etc. and the lovliest people who were selling it.
The house is sold and settles in December, nothing stopping us now, looking forward to meeting you all along the trek.
Thanks for all your previous assistance with vehicle and van choice.
Regards Jeannette and Rick
