Hi we are new to here :) Nice to meet you all. We have travelled around the southwest of our state camping in a tent... then setting up our car to sleep in, and now are in the process of doing up a coaster bus for the BIG trip! We are planning on letting our son have our home for a year so he can save and look after the place while we go around Australia to see the sights .. I thought it would be a good idea to join your group for valuable info, hints tips and friendship.. I am getting so very excited about this and cant wait to get started...

Hi and welcome. You're doing a good job on your bus. If you like travelling and camping, you're gunna love this. I've been all over this country, and WA is my favourite state. I can only form that conclusion after seeing all the others, except Tassie. It's the bucket list.

What a great looking bus! Please post more pics as you keep working on it.
The only thing that jumped out at me is the TV. Do you plan to keep it over the sink? I would just be worried about getting water into tv electrical bits.

Nice to meet you and like you I'm new to all this but they all seem very helpful, friendly and I get a great laugh out of some of the banter. Welcome. Tess

Thanks all and what a lovely welcome... n no Dave its one one of them arm thingies hubby put it over the sink as we decided to put a shelf up and wanted it out of the way.. but it actually hangs at the end of the bench.. I will take some more photos of it soon so you can see :) He's getting all the power sorted out, we have batteries of course, a gennie and solar in a case, I thought that was a good idea so we can park in the shade and put the solar where ever.. I think he will put a smaller one ontop to top up things as we are on the road... I leave that to him... I do the sewing, organising cupboards n packing .... as long as I have my computer power and my camera I will be a happy chappy!!!!
And Tassie is on my list of places to go ... not too sure if we will be able to afford it but we are going to give it a try.. this trip will be on our pension only.. I've been told it can be done... :)

I have friends who have been traveling full time for about 8 years and only on a pension AnandaJayne....so yes it can be done.
The secret they tell me is to plan a budget and stick to it and of course free camping as much as you can.

Cool, I'm sure we can do it after all we raised 17kids and paid for the house on one so budgeting is in my blood!!!! LOL and I'm sure my son wont want us hanging around the house with his lot... he went to new zealand to meet a girl he talked to on the net... now he is bringing her home with 2 kids, her sister and boyfriend to stay at our home while they save for one of thier own... I thought it was a great idea for both of us.. he can take care of our place and we wont have any 'home' bills on our trip as they will see to those for us...
soon after they get here we will take of for the wild blue yonder :)
