for travel I have bought cheap stubby holders and pack the glasses in them.

I have 2 crystal wine glasses and they travel in the box they came in....so far so good and they have traveled many, many klms so far.

The larger pvc pipes on top 110mm, are for my larger bourbon bottles.
Just use pvc pipe glue to fit all together, very strong. I havent patented yet so your ok.

I read somewhere someone with a new van had a bottle of wine in an overhead cupboard, rolled around, knocked the door open and landed on the van table, damaging the door and table top, not to mention the mess.......

I have demonstrated my cupboard storage methods before with the vege baskets to get double shelves with the ledge to stop stuff tumbling out. I lay the cups down on non-slip pads in the basket. I only use acrylic glasses and they don't break. My wine is in a bladder I take out of the box. It fits in the fridge easier, not so bulky and easy to keep cold. My bevvy of choice is Chateau C'board Muscato. I learnt to pack and stack on boats before non-slip matting was invented. Don't stand things up if you can lie them down, packed close together to reduce rolling and tumbling, even glass doesn't break. I do have a couple of glass tumblers. Bottles, jars, cans, all laid down and packed closely together is the way to go. If the road is rough enough, even the black top gets pot holes and rough road works the glasses and cups will jump out of your stands. Looks lke a good idea, but I'm not sure that it's so practical.

I hang my red wine cask from a tree, so its about 12 inches off ground . Makes pouring so much easier when sitting by fire. Ranger thought it was u-beaut!

Hang it a little higher and attach a piece of plastic tube, it's even easier.. ;0)

The trouble with wine out in the open, especially in the tropics, is "room temperature" is a little high for my taste. I prefer my bevvies to be slightly off the boil. And for all you red wine "experts" out there, it does taste much nicer when it's cool from the fridge.

Driving along the other day when for some unknown reason one of the wine glasses in a special rack just exploded. Huge bang. Thought the TV might have dropped off the wall. Frightened the life out of me. As could be expected was on the freeway and couldn't pull over for quite a while. Relieved to find it was only a glass. Took a bit of work to get all the glass up though.

Pipes need only be 250mm long. 40 mm riser in front only to slope backwoods. Cant fall forwood. Place on non slip rubber.
