Weeroona Bay Football & Sports Club, Cartledge Ave., Whyalla Stuart.
Costs $7 per night for unpowered site but there are toilets & hot showers.
Information from the Information Centre as you enter Whyalla from Port Augusta.
Billeee and myself have decided to use their facilities after a lookaround the city.

Per site so it costs $7 for the vehicle irrespective of the passengers.

A lot better than the Caravan Park which charges you extra to have a beachside site. Will remember this for next time.
There is also free camping out at Point Lowly. A pretty little spot.

If you are just passing Whyalla there are free hot n cold showers at the foreshore, next to the yach club, but after app 11 am they maybe just warm as the water system is put on at app 4 am to 6 am for the swimmers to use after there swim.
Thanks for the 'heads up' John, we will be calling in to Whyalla in a few months to visit a cuz so will definately look it up.

Just an update on the Weeroona Bay Football Club RV area.
Unfortunately last May the council has instructed the club that Caravans are not permitted to camp there any longer and large fines may apply.
Strangely enough Motor Homes are still permitted.
The rules have always been for "self contained" so go figure the reasoning behind this decision.
The club I believe, is disputing this decision
Another council with no real idea.
From my observations the area was always well supported by both vanners and motor homers and was close to Westlands for shopping.
