I felt like a celebrity today in the local shopping centre car park. A lady approached me looking at my wheel cover and asked me if I was THE Cruising Granny on The Grey Nomads Forum. After introductions we sat with a cuppa and chatted for the next 3 hours sharing stories of travel plans. I have a feeling new member Shaz will be a valuable member of the forum, and will keep the experienced nomads very busy answering her questions. Shaz is already well-prepared with the right attitude, and is keen to get it close to right by asking questions about vehicles or rigs. Be nice to her or I'll come and give you all "what for"!

Well Baroma577 if ever you're in Adelaide, or if our paths cross on the highways and bi-ways I look forward to meeting you. I love meeting fellow nomads, and I've had a few cuppas over the years. Not telling you what was in the cup. Ma, you're gunna have to stop saying all those nice things. You'll spoil my image and create the wrong impression.

Thanks CG, love SA and have travelled there several times including this past June though not Adelaide.
Quite like Adelaide too; love the trams and the ride to Glenelg.
Travelled on the O-Bahn a few times too and I believe that your public transport system is streets ahead of Brisbane's.

The jury's still out on this particular Wombat. Maybe I'll give this one the benefit of the doubt until we meet and I confirm my opinion. Adelaide has a new tramway in addition to the Glenelg tram. Privatisation does funny things to "public" transport. I've never used the O-Bahn system. It's obviously effective and efficient, but it's really a monument to a politician of the past.

Unless it has come about in the last 2 years CG I have possibly ridden on the new system.

The public transport is great but Adelaide drivers have a well earned reputation as the worst in Auz. I lived there for several years so speak from experience. I was there a few months ago driving along a inner city street in the middle lane. This merged with the left lane with no warning signs. A car overtook me on the left missing me by inches while a bus on the right tried to drive straight through me.

Yes unfortunately they haven't yet mastered the "merge". Giving way is another skill they haven't yet acquired. Selfish arrogance behind the wheel is a dangerous quality.
