Just back in Hawker & service again after a few days up north. We were in Parachilina gorge for the long weekend, every man & his dog [& cat] are up this way.
Moved down through Blinman to Brachina gorge yesterday, dropped off the van in camp area & done the gorge trip in the arve as the weather did not look to good, [what a gorge & you can drive through it].
Yep, it rained late arvo & through the night, about 25ml, nice & sloppy comming out.
Wilpena booked out, rawnsley the same so back in hawker for a day or two & see what this weather does, the road into Rawnsley was up to six inches deep in mud, we now have the dirtiest van up here I think.
If I clears up we will return to Wilpena for a look. & then head south.

Good luck JC, stay safe in that mud!
Flinders is one of the nicest places, have been there several times but used to be fairly quiet, we had the area to ourselves. (the camp at Aroona ruins) great spot.

Up that way is a place called Warrens Gorge. I've camped in there, and it's beautiful. I even has long-drops and a spring which puts out lovely fresh water non-stop. I camped up there years ago over Easter and we had a ball. The rain was fairly general, and there are a lot of smiling farmers out there today.

Camps 6 SA #601. there isnt actually much in the way of ruins Baroma, but there was a mock-up shack built from local pines to show how the buildings used to be. I remember a water tap there but its not listed in my Camps book.

If you're heading north away from parachilna there is a place called beltana station. Quite a nice little stay there and plenty to see.
