Have to drag ourselves away from beautifuliful Bribie Island (Qld) tomorrow, off to Imbil showground (near Gympie) for a caravan rally next weekend and then a ramble around that part of sunny sunshine coast and hinterland

Yeah, I got that image too. Resembled the reaction of 2 truck drivers yesterday when the Western Star just stopped working and rolled to a stop. Spanners and shifters at the ready, but still the trouble couldn't be diagnosed or resolved. About 3 hours later a mechanic finally showed up to help out. That took a lot of phone calls. Lucky we were in country Vic with coverage. The experienced, keen apprentice did the obvious, but that didn't work. The computer wouldn't tell him what the problem was. A bit more manual, physical investigation revealed the trouble. The problem proved to be chaffed wiring which stopped the information getting from the electical system to the fuel system. Wiring fixed temporarily and we were on our way. That young mechanic just beemed with satisfaction and pride in his diagnosis and repair work. Bring back mechanics instead of spanner-wielding geeks.

Hi Sharon, welcome to our madhouse, guru is my level on the forum, you get this by the number of postings, my name is Brian.
We are staying at my mother in laws place this time, but both caravan parks on Bribie Island are good. There is one on the ocean side at Woorim which is privatly owned and one on the passage side which is council, we do prefer the one on the passage as it is only a walk to shops, clubs etc.
The rally is our caravan club, Down Under caravan club and we welcome new members, it is mainly for people with grown up families as we are all over 50
