GD & HW, It's a solar kettle, boils 3 cups of water in less than 30 mins, well that's what it says on the box, testing it tomorrow

Without meaning to be rude that looks more like a medical device for exploring a wombat hole

Me too. Little gas stove takes a lot less than that to boil a whole kettle.
I guess you could lay it on the Dashboard to heat up while you're travelling. That way you would save time as well.
Cheers,
Sheba.

gubby, tried it last night and it still has not boiled this morning, cos it's still dark outside my hole, you are correct, does not work at night, and Mrs G said you were smart --------------------------------------------------------------------
HW, I just get up 30 minutes before I normally do ------------------------------------------------------------------
gubby, we do not have elecrtic power in our burrow and gas is not an option in a confined space, so the solar kettle is the next best option, I've been looking forward to a hot cuppa for a few years now. ---------------------------------------------------------------
pauline, I might have coffee ----------------------------------------------------------
Elle on Wheels, I don't know what you mean ----------------------------------------------------------------
lilly31, just put it out in the sun 30 minuites before you think you need a cuppa -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sheba, yes the gas would be quicker BUT I think you are all missing the point, free hot waterand great to sit there and watch it boil while having a snooze, don't think I'll use it on the dashboard as it will end up with boiling water inside. -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didn't miss the point Wombat. It'd be great to use when you're stopped for some time.
Isn't the water contained in something ? If it was, you could just put it straight into a thermos as soon as it was boiled, while travelling.
And I wouldn't expect you to do it while driving. Either your passenger could, or you could stop for a couple of minutes and do it before taking off again, if you're solo.
Cheers,
Sheba.

I have a 12 volt jug too milo. Haven't used it yet. Someone said it can be quite a drain on the battery so have it packed away.

I just use a good ol'fashion thermos. Load it in the morning before setting out, just the thing for my compulsory mid morning caffeine shot. I also use a small coffee plunger with coffee rather than instant dehydrated river mud (aka "instant coffee").
