Because we have been in WA for over 2 years we have accumulated a lot of stuff which we do not wish to travel with. Frieght rates to NSW seem excessive. Does anyone have any ideas about sending cartons east that may not cost more than the contents of the cartons?

Good luck with that, I know how much it costs to send stuff just round the corner... as i said good luck but other people might be able to help.

I don't know either Tezza, if you have checked out road and rail prices etc. Unless you can find an Eastern States crowd who may backload it cheaper.
If not you may have to have a garage sale and get rid of it.

I remember Jayco Gypsy (GN member) went into this to bring a car in bits from Brisbane to Perth, can't recall how they did it though but they did do it. PM her and see what she says.....

Depending on the size and weight of the boxes, you may be able to send it by rail. What sort of prices are you looking at by truck general freight, bus (Greyhound) or similar, and flying?

Tezza we used a Perth based company in March to freight a car from Brisbane to Perth. Can pm the details to you if that would be of any help. Try Pack & Send for boxes. A friend used them from Brisbane to Perth for boxes which was the cheapest option from there.
