We are in the middle of the biggest storm we have had this year so far.
The rain is almost horizontal and coming down in buckets.
Thunder but no lightning yet.
Think the temperature dropped 10 degrees in a matter of minutes
It's heading north so look out Nowra and beyond.

Just checked the rain gauge 5.40pm - 25mil in 15 minutes and it hasn't stopped yet, eased off a tad but you would get soaked very quickly if you are out in it AND its cooooooold

if it's coming down in bucket's perhaps you could open a hardware store when it's over, selling all those bucket's

Gday...
I know how you feel ........
I'm in central inland QLD - Mitchell right now but from Charters Towers/Emerald/Roma etc for the past week or so I have been on the fringe of huge thunder/lightning storms - not lots of wind or rain - just HUGE light shows.
For the past 40 minutes, have been sitting in the van as it gets pummelled with little hail stones, lotz of rain but not much wind. Oh yeah - and the humidity is 110% - well it feels like it
Heading southward tomorrow ... but from looking at weather radar these storm bands which have been ranging from Channel Country, through northern NSW and Southern QLD through to SE QLD are pretty general each afternoon.
It is good standing in the rain though - cooling.
Cheers
John

By the way, I have lots of rellies in and around Mitchell. Last year the water was just lapping the bridge...hard to imagine...I only saw photo's of it.

I thought he might be going SE Beth. or in that general direction. Nomads have a habit of detouring in any direction.

Biggenden is actually NE of Mitchell, but I get your drift...we do tend to wander off in any direction.

Well let me know when you head northward ... I will be probably in the vicinity of places near the Newell Hwy - Moree, Narrabri, Coonabarabran etc for weeks coming - will probably stay "middle NSW" for a while probably .... no plans but will slowly head southward.
We may eventually get to share a cuppa praps

Well it was certainly loud here in Loganholme. I was surprised we didn't lose power. I haven't been up the front yet, but there doesn't seem to be any damage.

Yes, Gert, lovely day today, blue sky, gentle breeze around 21 degrees.
Total rainfall for the duration of the storm was 35mm according to the rain gauge.
Hope all you QLDers fared well in the storms up your way. Pretty spectacular light show I read on the news.

I went ou to my daughters today...where my Nipper is stored...only to find her jockey wheel half buried in mud! S-i-l had levelled off a patch ground beside his shed especially for her to be tucked away, and the ground was still soft, so after the storm last night...mud all round her!

That would be the fault of that "Flinders Peak". We always found when we live there that the storms always split around that rock!
