I'm compiling a bit of a list of very cheap meals that can be made easily on the road (ie, on a small stove and a very limited budget).
I would be keen to hear any suggestions for meal ideas or recipes that are budget conscious

Maybe a good one for the Dream Pot or Shuttle Chef? Do you use water or chicken stock?
Suggestion... Once you've compiled the list here, maybe (if necessary) condense it down a bit and copy it across to the Recipe forum where it will be easier to find for future reference.

What a good idea, I wonder if Cindy could transfer it to the cooking section and we can keep it rolling

Hi Dave, this my version of Chicken Cacciatore, all in one pot serve with rice or pasta quite delicious and soooo easy. You will need any chicken pieces on the bone it does not matter how few or up to around a kilo. A large tin diced tomato, 2-3 capsicum sliced roughly, 1 lge.onion and a good hand full of black olives. Salt & pepper to taste. Put everything in the pot with a well fitted lid except the olives and simmer until chicken falling off bones. drop in olives and heat through, they really give a great flavour, Serve on Pasta or rice. You'll have stacks of left overs. Good camp oven recipe.
This is the basic recipe you can fancey it up by adding carrot and zuccini(near the end of cooking) fresh parsley etc. You can play with the amounts of everything and still get a really tasty meal as long as you simmer those bones for a bit. Enjoy.

I'd go along with that as we do have a special recipe forum and topics get "buried" rather quickly on the general forum.
It's up to Dave to ask Cindy if he wishes to do that as it's his thread.
(reason for edit...ol' clumsy fingers again!)
