My sympathy to you both Popeye. Its a dreadful time, you dont realise until it happens just how important your Mum was. Go ahead and cry your eyes out. Cry with your brother and cry on your own. Its actually beneficial instead of trying to hold it all in.
We'll all be thinking of you, especially on Tuesday.
Sending a cyber-hug to you Popeye

My mother died 15 years ago and to this day there is not a day goes by that I don't remember her and think of her. It's not something that I make a point of doing, it just happens that way.
I always think how fortunate I am to have been born to such a beautiful lady. I can see from your post that you feel the same as I do.
Sincerely,
Jim

.. the loss of loved one is never easy .. be happy with your memories mate and be thankful for what you shared.
Time will help the healing as I find, but the best support for me was to go and help others who could do with some help .. Just sharing in their joy doesn't give me time to feel sorry for myself !
wish you well

So very sad to lose a loved one and especially sad to lose a mum. My comfort is that I know mine is with me in everything I do. I get comfort just knowing that she is here sharing my life with me. The body gets tired and it goes to rest but they never leave you. Just knowing I have my own special angel is wonderful. My thoughts are with you and your family. Tess

I'm sorry to hear that Popeye. Unfortunately death is part of life, and it is inevitable. When your grief has eased, think of all the good and happy times, all the things she did which were unique to her, and you admired in her. My mum died in 1955 when she was 25 and I was 4. I still wish I could sit down and talk to her. I tried to be the mother I would have liked her to be, but I don't know how I went with that. Never forget her, but remember her at her happiest.
