to Melbourne on Thursday to see my son, quick trip will be back on Sunday afternoon, we are very close and I have not seen him for nearly 12 months, he always tells everyone I am his closest friend and we speak every other day on the phone, will be good to see him...........

Have a safe trip and a great time with your son, it is hard to be apart from youir kids (and grandies), that is the only thing Doreen and I hate about travelling

Have a great visit with your son Pauline and have you considered Skype to keep in touch with him??

Yes we have skype and when I talked them into getting a van and doing some travelling ( i am a bad mother) we used it all the time, now we seem to talk on the mobile, can't understand why we just do.

I love Skype Pauline and my thought was that it would be cheaper for you to keep in touch with your son.
Can't for the life of me understand why you think you are a bad mother.....my gosh I think you gave them the best advice going and even better still.... they took it.

I wanted them to see this country and they ended up in Melb after only 6 months, both have good jobs but don't know how long they will cope with the weather ( their words not mine ) but they have not got rid of the van so there is still hope..............

Whilst ever they have it, there is hope....even if they only use it for weekends or holidays.
