In the latest newsletter and in the profile "Characters on the Road" on Lynda, she mentiioned she wouldn't be without her Hose Bags.
For her fresh water and grey water hose, she has bags which have saved her sanity. I want to know where do you get them, just what I need too.
And who is Lynda? can't put the profile to anyone on here, sorry in advance Lynda if I should know who you are.

You can get them at the Camping and caravan shows and also most outdoors retailers and I would imagine at any camping type store, even your local caravan dealer that has an accessories outlet would probably have them Marj.
Thanks Ma and also Jimricho. Went into that site and see they are for sale at our local camping store. Will be getting a hose bag and a cable bag as will make a lot of extra space in my cupboards.

Have a look on Ebay under 'Caravan Hose Bags'. There are a few dealers selling them. I bought a couple a short time ago and very happy with what I got.

Have just done the rounds of suppliers of hose and lead bags and found that hosetamers is based here in Echuca, so have sent them a message in the hope of getting them over the weekend, what good luck is that?

Have you got some prices HW?? The ones I last saw at the camping show in Toowoomba were $25 each from memory.

$19.00 for the hose bag and $25 for the power lead bag. This was on Ebay. He has emailed me back and going to ring me on Monday so I can look at them all, work out which ones fit best and go from there. Why hasn't anyone mentioned these before, had never heard of them. Will make so much more room in the cupboard where they are now stored sprawling all over the place.

Sorry HW, I do have a canvas hose bag that my friend made but not the power lead one. Not sure I have even seen them before

ours are mesh bags which allow water to drain away etc.
we use one for water hose and another for the sullage hose, and as soon as I see one I want the cable bag............... hey did I hear some one ask what I want for my birthday?

Great invention,certainly saves time and effort for my hoses and drainage hoses. Dont think I would leave part hose in the bag as illustraited, might not be there next morning.

I hadn't heard of these either, but they are such a great idea. So much easier to keep the caravan cord in rather than just loose i the toolbox. Will get one from Ebay me thinks! thanks

I have the hose one but I keep the electric cord wound around a plastic thingy from Bunnings - there is a slot for the plug and you just wind the cord around it - orange plastic frame about a foot long. Very easy and cheap - think it was around $2

Thanks for that Helen, will pop over there tomorrow and have a look. Would rather pay 2.00 than 25.00. By the way I finally got that camera. They had to order one in for me. Have got it on layby at the moment, can't wait to get and try it out.

Great ideas - I will invest in a couple of hose bags and check out those $2 Bunnings thingys. A silly question. To date I have been using a bucket under my sink and am not sure how to attach a hose to the sullage outlet for my old Viscount - will it have a thread on the outlet to attach a hose? I don't fancy having to lie down everytime to find the outlet but guess if I attach a fitting to it it will be easier. A bucket seems to do the job ok so it's no big deal for me, just curious

Yes i have 3 of those plastic thingees from bunnings,very cheap,better than paying big dollars that you are all talking about. they have been around for years.My hoses i keep in striped bag with joiners to keep them tidy,and no water runs over your boot,and keep joins at the top of bag. rvtraveller2

Elle, I see a lot of people using a bucket, it probably is a lot easier. The hose just pushes on I think, haven't used mine yet but don't think it needs any attachments. Would be easier without them anyway as the outlet is a far bit under the van in most cases so you don't want to have to lie down and have two arms under there trying to do up an attachment. They all seem to be just a hose that I have seen there and the other end they put some distance away from the van so no water is running out right near the van. rv, when you say joiners are you talking about acual hose joiners or something else that keeps the hose in a circle inside one of those striped bags.

It might be a bit more than $2 but not much - I just cannot remember. Glad to hear about the camera - I did some macro ones the other day. Still need more practice.

Just saved myself heaps of money. Bought the orange electrical lead tidy, was $2.38 Helen. A bargain. Then went into town and bought two of the small striped bags with zips for the hoses. $2.00 each. A black striped one for the grey water hose and a blue striped one for the drinking water hose. Just over 6.00 for the lot, then sorted them all out whilst parked in their carpark and found new spaces for them. Now have heaps of space.

In our tent camping days, she made bags for all our pots, pans, and billies. We cooked on open fires, so they were always black.
She's also making a little curtain for my caravan door. It only has a net curtain, which can be seen through at night. There's a little skirt along the bottom of the 'spare bed'...it matches the window curtains...and I don't want it there, so she'll just cut it up.
I can sort-of sew, but she does such a great job, I wouldn't want to deprive her of the job.
