Thanks all, your help and comments appreciated.
Rod is a volunteer fire fighter in Chidlow so would know the bush there fairly well but I would imagine his fire fighter mates would have checked that out.
Both he and his wife worked in the hospital system prior to retirement, Robyn his wife was a nurse. She is a kidney transplant on her third transplanted kidney two previous ones failed, and has just had a major op, so you can imagine how that must be affecting her health as well.
Let's hope it all ends well for both of them.
Our Jon here met them both at a picnic at Lake Leschenaultia when he was over here but may not recall them as there were a number of people there.

Chidlow man Rod Base and his Dark Blue Colorado Ute are still missing, if sighted in your travels please contact police urgently, see this link for details/rego etc;
" Rod left his home in Chidlow on the morning of 13 November 2011. He was driving his 2009 dark blue Holden Colorado Ute registration MDG348A. The vehicle had an alloy roo bar with spotlights and a black tonneau cover on the rear. Despite extensive inquiries neither Rod nor his vehicle has been located. There are serious concerns for his welfare."

Thanks for your comments and replies all, we are going up to his place in Chidlow tomorrow with a group from Transplant Australia to do some gardening and other chores around the place (semi rural block) for his wife Robyn.
Hopefully that will help her out a bit. She is not a well woman and because his whereabouts are unknown cannot sell the property until it can be sorted out, as it is too much for her to look after.
PS: Jonathon, you may recall meeting her and Rod at the picnic at Lake Leschenaultia (Chidlow), although may be been busy serenading us with your songs

Gee, that's a long time unresolved. He obviously doesn't want to be found. It's always the family and friends who suffer in these circumstances. Keep the faith and stay strong.
