Hello Everyone, Wow. my last toilet post had an enormous amount of readers and thankyou to all who replied. one thing though with regards to the top tank - usually I use chemicals so do other people just use water and a few drops eucalyptus oil instead and if so, how does this go for you? thanks.

We just use water and a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in the top tank and have been doing so for 3 years now, to date have not had a single problem.
Would much prefer to spend the cost of chemicals on something more appetising

Eucalyptus oil will soften the plastic and you will end up buy a new toilet.
Best thing to use in the top tank is a squirt of Cousins dish washing liquid preferably the orange. That will stop the algae growing and clean and lubricate the bowl. Don't forget to lubricate the seals and slide with OLIVE OIL ONLY. Read the Thetford manual.

You can also just put a small amount of the nappy soaker in the top tank as well
