hello everyone, i am a bit perplexed. qld. gov. abolished the ambulance levy on our electricity bills in july. 2011. does anyone know if i travel out of qld. to say victoria - am i covered by the qld. ambulance service. we are not on the pension yet. thanks everyone.

There was a thread on just the same thing only a few weeks ago. The general consensus was you are covered when you travel to other states. I remember someone finding the Qld ambulance online and quoting some of the rules. Will see if I can find it.
I typed ambulance cover into search at the top and 13 threads came up.

Yes you are covered ,my mate who lives in Qld fell sick and was rushed to the John Hunter Hospital in NSW at no charge

Yes as barrie says you are covered. I was taken from my daughters place at Nana Glen, N.S.W. to Coffs Harbour hospital by ambulance. The cost was over $900.00 but as I am a QLD resident it was covered. Cost me nothing.

I believe if you have a QLD licence you are covered.

Yes you are covered all you need to do is provide ID with a Qld address on it eg. Pension Card or Qld drivers Licence. Send the bill to the Qld Ambulance with the relevant ID and they will take care of the bill
