Hi Neil, I have seen them in kitchen ware shops, like "House" and similiar. Sometimes the cheapy shops have them too.

I use some very large WA gumnuts filled with lead and a protruding piece of plastic coated wire terminated on aligator clips.
Hang them from the corners. Works & are a great conversation piece.
The cheap shop clips probably work better though.

We used to just use G-clamps at BBQs (farmers, lol) but you can get them at Target and other general stores.

I'm surprised so many people use table cloths. More work washing, preventing blowing away, etc, etc. Just wipe your table clean and use that.

All those homely formalities and trinkets and trimmings. I've seen people/campers setting up the annexe for the season with table cloth, plastic flowers, fruit bowl, even gnomes and ornaments. All unnecessary clutter to carry and keep clean. But to each his/her own. I use the KISS principle. Neat clean and minimalist.

Just a table cloth is all I use, pretty simple, but I do have friends who always took their candelabra and set it up on their table for thr evening meal.

Was not expecting such a response thanks all,it is not lace or any fancy stuff just vinyl,like to be a bit like the house i use to have,even thou i am a male. Still like to be a little civilsed in my van loaded with all the mod cons. rvtraeller2 PS didnt bring the silver ware thou.

I don't even have a tablecloth at home much less when traveling. Use place mats at home and the tabletop when away.

I like a formal meal- like my mum taught me -with a tablecloth.
Every meal sitting at a table, with knife, fork, spoon set beside the plate. I have moved from a cup & saucer to a mug though.
It works for me , especially if using public picnic tables in parks.
In addition, I have sometimes used a tablecloth as a throw-over to keep insects off food.
Tablecloth clips can be home made, just as long as they are able to be clipped to the edge and have a little bit of weight in them.
I don't use a tablecloth at home but I do on the road.
A vinyl one and it serves a number of purposes.
Park tables etc are sometimes rather unpleasant even after they are cleaned, the vinyl tablecloth helps mask that. Also used it as a picnic mat when on the beach etc.
I will look for some of those weights next time I am out and about too I think, they sound like a good idea.

Did you make those, they are very pretty. I have some heavy weighted metal ones from House I think, they are different tea pots

Nothing wrong with the humble tablecloth, a little civilisation now and again does not go astray.
A friend had a small campervan and he always had a tablecloth at dinner time along with a candle on the table and he was always camped in the middle of the bush.

I have a tablecloth in the car all the time. Never know what's been happening on some of the picnic tables we have stopped at.
Much happier preparing our rolls, etc with some cover on the table.

The clips might not be a good thing on the vinyl ones Elle, the clips are mainly for fabric.
They actually have small teeth that can puncture a hole in the vinyl.
Whatever your choice....spoil yourself and have a tablecloth....LOL

As for tablecloth clips, what's wrong with bulldog clips? It depends on the thickness of the table to which you are attaching the cloth, but spring clips, alligator clips or paper clips of some type will do the job.
