Well, the Mrs finished making the christmas puddings today, couple for the kids & same for us .
Yours truely lifted them out of the boilers, I could have sworn that one had [ sample pack ] stamped on it. That suggestion was soon squashed, & I hate waiting.
Maybe a midnight snack,? Is it worth it,?.
Could always make a plea of a hard childhood, that seems to work for many.
I suggested there was still time to make another on, .
Do I or do I not???????? LOL LOL.

Foolish man for even considering it.
Sample it now and you are dead....wait for the appropriate time and you'll live to have more again next year.

tip it upside down and take a couple of tablesoons out of the bottom, then turn it back over, right side up, if you are discovered then all you need to say "those bloody mice are around again"
go on I dare you.

Me thinks our Wombat is the greatest misLEADER of all time. At least that's what I've concluded over the years on GN. But he's a nice misleader.

If you try it now it won't be as good on Christmas Day, just like when you find a present and take a peak. When you do actually open it, there's not as much excitement. I made my pudding last weekend. A nice big one to feed all of the family. Shame about all the other christmas tasks I haven't done yet.!!!!!

I always make about 10 christmas puddings, have an easy recipe that freezes well. Then can give to friends and enjoy all year. Recipe: makes 2 1kg mixed fruit 3 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 300ml cream 2 1/2 cups plain flour 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp bi carb soda
Beat eggs and sugar until thick and creamy. Add fruit with cream. Mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. Place into 2, 5 cup pudding steamers with lids and stem in saucepans for 3 hours, or one 10 cup and steam for 5 hours.
Optional: When cooked I sprinkle brandy over pudding and stand for 1/2 before turning out.

I remember one year, I made the pudding early (early for me, like around now) and it smelled so good, we had a little bit to taste it. Then my sister called in and she had a bit. The we had a cup of tea, and pudding goes well with that. Then, she stole a bit to let my b-in-law have a taste. By then, we thought we might as well have another bit the next day....... you know how it goes.
By christmas eve, there was none left and I had to make another one!
Now I just make one pudding, on christmas eve.
