Well guys yes it seems the melanoma has reared its ugly head
again and i do now know i have secondary melanoma, from here we go to royal brisbane for a P.E.T scan of my whole body to make sure its not anywhere else for starters.
Then i shall be booked into nambour hospital again when im not so sure, but i have to have a large cut from the middle of my leg to my groin area and take out all the lymph nodes ,i am warned that i may wake up in intensive care ,its a 2.5 hour operation, during this i shall have a tube inserted into my leg to drain the fluid daily.
Expected time in hospital is anything from one week to three depending on how tough i am and how i heal.
we shed a lot of tears yesterday and dr john darcy was wondeful got me the tissues, and said how sorry he was to see this happening to me an especialy since we got the last melanoma so soon, but as they say they are not scientists and end up putting there hands up inthe air when it comes to melanoma, its one of the worst cancers due to its aggressive behaviour and its tricky behaviour as well.
ide like to say thank you once again for all of your thoughts and prayers, this is just another stepping stone, and i tell ya this thing is not coming back after this time i wont allow it, my body is not my own anymore but after this has been taken ,i will not allow it to do this to me again.
i shall keep you all informed as much as i can until then stay safe on the road, dont bother coming to qld , its bloody pouring out there and has been on and off for days.,
of course hubby is so upset ,he shed a lot of tears yesterday and said he wished he could take it from me and it be him ,silly bugger he is.
love ya all to bits have a fantastic xmas guys and ill come back on later on and read all your wonderful posts ,its only 6.30 ,no more sleep for me im up and wide awake.

I have a friend who is a theatre nurse in Nambour and she and all her colleagues are wonderful people and they do marvellous work.
As Dave Allan the Irish comedian said "May your god be with you" and we all hope for a swift recovery

I feel for you in your hour of need.I have skin cancers, also, but not melanomas, but squamous cell carcinomas, not as bad.Mine are from an adult life spent in the sun, and I appeal to people to wear the right clothing, and slip, slop , slap,as the consequences aren,t real good if you don,t.Keep your chin up. You can add me to the long list of well-wishers Della. I too, have had many skin cancers removed and so far have been lucky enough to avoid melanomas. I have had someone close to me have to deal with melanoma though and I have some idea what you must be feeling. Wouldn't wish any of it on my worst enemy. If people who wish you good fortune have any influence on the outcome you'll have a speedy recovery. Those people are here, and other places by the bucketload. All the best. Thinking of you. Gary.

Chin up Della. I know that hubby will be a tower of strength for you. I have been through 2 life threatening experiences myself and have supported hubby through a couple. Hate to think about going through it alone.
Go with the flow and trust in the medicos. There is nothing you can do, so try and keep those stress levels down so that your body can put all its energy into healing.
Thinking of you,

Della , darlin, what can we say that has not been said by all the above.
I shed tears as read your story , only today we went to the funeral of my first cousin that was taken by cancer .
We will be thinking of you every day, try to remain unstressed, which is bloody hard to do but your body needs all your strength for the recovery.
Make sure Grahame keeps his appointment with the account, get that caravan ready & hit the road as soon as you are well enough, dont wait any longer.
Hang in there girl, your part of the team & we all need you out & about with the rest of us. The date we made is still on as soon as we are in your area.
All our love to you;
