I'd have to see it to believe it. Otherwise it's just another fake story doing the rounds of the Internet .
BTW, I normally check the veracity of any potential urban legends here: http://www.snopes.com/

Did you do a search about this topic?
Did you find anything in regards to this topic?
I did a search and could find nothing in relation to No Happy Christmas in a Balmain School, so does that mean it must be true?

I didn't research it, but if I were making that claim, then I would quote my source. In fact I would ask Father Ted to tell us where he got his information.
This tells the story, from Nine news. I think its a bit of a beat up by the journalist,I'm not gonna get all upset over it.
Merry Christmas to you all, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Whatever.

Well, I found this news article: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8389344/sydney-school-accused-of-stealing-christmas
The source was the Daily Telegraph, a Murdoch paper, so I'll reserve my judgment until I see the real story on MediaWatch.
Ironically, here is a more balanced report from the Catholic News: http://www.cathnews.com/article.aspx?aeid=29446
The Inner Sydney Montessori School said it offers an "inclusive co-educational, non-denominational" education for children from diverse backgrounds from birth to age 12. Principal Cathy Swan said the complaining parent had misinterpreted what went on at the school.
"This is the first complaint I have received about this ... I am sorry this parent felt that way. We have Christmas activities going on all over the building," she said.
"Our policy is that we give children keys to the world and we show them many celebrations including Christmas. We look at all cultures and the particular ways that people celebrate such as Easter, Christmas and Chanukah."
Ms Swan said the end-of-year songs without Christmas references may have been an "attempt by one teacher to address the fact that she had Hindu and Jewish children in the classroom".

Australia is a Christian Country and if want to celebrate our Christian Festivals then we should, these others are immigrants who want us to do as they do, enough is enough, live our way of life or get out. They all have one Right and that is the Right to Leave whenever they want to and go back to their own country.

They leave their country to get away from oppression and then try to oppress us and make us live their lifestyle, I am sick and tired of it all.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all no matter their race or creed.

When in Rome do as the Romans do. If we were in onother country we would have to abide by there rules etc so when in Austarlia (at their choice I might add) do it our b...y way. NO ONE here is stopping you from going back. Oh no, that soap box is coming out of the garage, I think I will go and shut the door. Where's Pauline when you need her?

I agree 100% if they come here they should assimulate not try and force us to live by their rules and standards, after all they left their country to get away from all the oppression and then they wish to impose their ideals on us. Haven't had my soapbox out for some time now and it looks like I will have to put mine away also.

Quite correct Wombat, as they say it is the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.
Our Pollies listen to the loud minority and as you say don't have the guts to stand up to them and say no.

For a ‘non-political’ forum I think this string might have taken us dangerously close to the edge! However, I think you have all done a pretty skilful job of skating around this without anyone getting too upset or too worked up. Thanks all of you for that. However, it might still be best to quit while we are ahead … and I think I’ll close this thread off. Just a reminder ... this forum is not a place for discussions of potentially divisive political issues.
