Not wanting to alarm people but so many people use blogspot these days I thought it prudent to pass on the report I got from Avast this morning.
Blogspot is the most attacked website in Australia. If you use it make sure your virus checker is up to date.

Thanks for the warning, as can be seen by my signature, I use Blogspot.
I have never had a problem but do not know how attacking a website affects the blogger's own laptop and what the likely consequences are.
More information would be welcome.

We tried to start a blog with blogspot. It worked fine on the PC but on the lap-top it would not allow us to upload any new posts no matter what we tried. So we gave up on it, and send e-mail "newsletters" instead. Glad we did now.

The most likely outcome would be a graffitti attack - basically someone getting into your blog and changing the text and pictures, probably to something unpleasant.
It is possible that they could add a file that might carry a virus payload that would infect your PC if you downloaded it, but a good virus checker should detect that.
