Does not matter what the beer cost, with 150 litres in the prado it means one carton is free. I will have to do some driving before the 14th Jan or get some jerry cans to get the benefit xxxx will do fine over xmas Ken

$35 per carton - might just have to drive round and round to use up existing fuel so then we can get the cheap stuff ;) Then we could buy more beer and get more cheap fuel - wow what a saving

Simple marketing ploy - people buy up BIG over Christmas, especially grog, so if you can get them into the store then you'll get all of their Christmas purchases. The profit on that, and the increase in customer loyalty for future purchases, covers the people who will actually cash in the discount on fuel.
"These discount rackets the reason fuel is so high"
The discount has to be paid for and certainly some of that goes onto the fuel price as well as onto the grocery price.

If you're smart you can cash in on those xmas marketing ploys. In this case maybe it's cheaper to drink the petrol and fill the tank with beer

Or be lucky enough to score a discount docket from a non driver..........Like offer to take them shopping......I used to be a Volunteer Driver at DHS Bacchus Marsh Hospital and was given dockets by the elderly Then I would give them away to others......On that score it was fine.....I still don't like it the system

I hate Woolies / Coles fuel deals, you still pay thru the nose at the pump or the checkout.
But........
Yesterday Cellebration Liquour Stores in wa started a promo, Carlton Mid Can blocks 5 for $149.90! At a saving of around $8 a block I got a lot of free fuel for the 10 ( ) blocks I bought.
I fully understand the purpose of the deal is to get you to buy more beer but, what the heck, it doesn't make me drink more, just lets me stock up on a cheaper supply of what I would have bought over the coming months anyway.
