Just bought a set of 6 coffee mugs, rather unique. They are Maxwell Williams brand, the theme is waltzing matilda.
The mugs are aussie outback landscape settings around a billabong & done by David Hart, son of Pro hart. Will use these in the van to add a touch of Aussie tradition.$ 29.95.

3 >>> Jumbuck in the tucker bag.
4 >>> Down came the troopers .
5 >>> Sprang into to billabong .

I bought a beautiful Maxwell Williams coffee cup with a glorious pic of our wonderful and rare Major Mitchells on it.
There were various other birds also available. So thank you Maxwell Williams for all things Australiana.

You could use that burnt finger for boiling the water to put into those there new mugs JC, just put the finger into the cold water. (my daughter would call that a dad joke)

Did you buy them on the net...or were you lucky enough to find them in a shop or gallery?
I like Maxell Williams crockery very much, but I found tea/coffee stains in the inside of my plain white mugs that won't come out. Take care.

Kicking myself at the moment. I was in a Vinnies and knowing nothing about cups except that you drink out of them, I saw all these Maxell Williams cups ect for 50 cents. I just checked the price of them on line. Wonder if they will be there after Christmas.

Try 1/2 teaspoon of bleach in a cup of water and let stand for about 30 minutes then wash as normal and the coffe/tea stains should disappear.

nope.... tried all the usual remedies, even took one back the DJs to show the rep.
threw them away in the end, as they all went the same.
however, I have the rest of the dinner set in daily use and love it, just the coffee mugs were crook.

Its weird how some mugs get that permanent stain and others dont. We have a set of the MW bird mugs, and they stay nice and clean inside but the Ashdene ones with Aussie bird and animal designs are terrible! Bleaching didnt work and if you scrub them you take the surface off. My favourite big mug never stains and its from the Reject Shop for $2!!

I am so fussy with my coffee mugs.
I like a thin drinking edge on it, comfortable handle, and not too heavy. As I like my tea/coffee coll rather than scalding, I like them wide at the top and a decent size- as close to 300 mls as I can get.
Pottery mugs are not for me, and you can keep plastic for the children, I love bone china.

That's the only kind of mug I like too ! salt on a cloth rubbed into stains is very effective on tea and coffee staining. can't stand drinking out of stained cups either.

Hubby shakes his head when I talk about tea mugs and coffee mugs. They are all just mugs to him however I prefer tea out of the fine china ones and coffee is ok out of the heavier pottery type ones.

I too only ever drink tea from a fine bone china cup and coffee or hot chocolate from a mug; preferably a nice china one as well.
I use a small squirt of Domestos in my cup and fill it with hot water and let stand for a bit. Do make sure you wash it thoroughly after this application though.
To date I have never had a mug/cup where this has not worked.

Dazren, picked them up in one of the speciality kitchen shops, Ive known for four months that they were comming but only just got them.

Wombats link shows them Rosie, the real thing looks a lot better with stronger colours.

When I worked, we used to store all our cups in a common cupboard in the tea-room. I never washed my cup, always put it away dirty, and washed it well before the next use.
They all thought I was crazy, but no one ever pinched my cup!
