.. soon after I took those photos, I got a message to say that a vacancy exists in Tamworth that I was hoping for .. hence the reason I started the other thread.
Another thing I noticed at Chaffey Dam this morning before I left, was that some religious/scripture group had put up notices that approx. 150 youth and young adults are going to be spending about a week around the area .. from about the 8th Jan 2012 ..
so .. this means that if you are heading for Chaffey Dam for a visit, thats fine .. but dont expect to camp anywhere near the toilet/shower block ..The Flyers also stated that there will be a lot of loud noise played til late at night ..
Just for your info .

Gee, sounds like fun for them, but no-one else in the area. Good of them to put out the flyers though.

Sorry we missed you at Chaffey. Just arrived home today after spending new year. It was so busy but we had a great time. Enjoyed the company of Ray and Pat, thier family and a solo traveler, Col. I have camped there for many years and I have never seen it busier. If we hadnt arrived when we did, I dont think we would have got a water spot. Many people arrived later and had to park up the hill. One of the sad things was a particularly unpleasant lady who said we couldnt camp near her because hubby needed to park his boat there and other freinds were coming later. No probs, we moved on, however the space stayed vacant and she spent the whole week screaming at her children, so Im glad we parked further up the road. A shame people cant be a little bit more considerate. Spoke to one of the Trustees cleaning up there today. He said the other side of the park was filthy. Dirty nappies and grog bottles thrown in fireplaces, and of course they wont break down so some poor volunteer has to clean it all up. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who do look after the park. Dont know the names and they likely wont read this but I am sure we all appreciate their efforts.
