if we haven't got one we need one- maybe called the whinging post!
I went to Kmart yesterday, in the market for new bathroom scales- my old and expensive scales went to god!
Beauty, found some for under $10 and some just over $10- "what's wrong with ém" I thought. They looked fine,so I thought "Bargain" chose a set, and off we went.
Got home, hopped one- bloody things weight in pounds! and the kgs are in micro writing underneath which I can't read (even with glasses)
I should invoice them for mental trauma for the shock when I stepped on and the dial went psycho.
Why pounds? Not even in stones which I can relate to (cause I'm so old). Pounds are very big numbers - both in size of the font and numbers on the dial. I can't weight that many numbers !!!!!
Got to take them back - probably waste a few hours and buy a few things I don't want - and have to go elsewhere for a decent set!

You'll be so happy when you see your weight in Kg's again Rosie! Kmart are pretty good with returns, if you can stay at the front desk and not go in it will save you money!
We took our expensive bathroom scales in the caravan... not good, they died. Replaced with a cheaper one from BigW, all well.

For most of our major purchases we have to drive to shopping centres near Newcastle, which are usually over 40K each way. Seems like every time we buy something there is a piece missing, or the article doesn't do as the salesperson says it would, or the wrong parts have been packed with multi package purchases. Drives me crazy having to drive another 80 odd Km trip to rectify the problem. Last one was just b4 Christmas when I bought a PS3 game. Handed the package I had selected from the shelf to the assistant at the counter and she handed back the game along with other purchases I made in a carry bag. She forgot to put the game DVD in the cover. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. That's abot $10.00 worth of diesel wasted.
edited for typos caused by aggro from thinking about it... lol

One year I bought a clock radio with CD player for a friend, wrapped it up, organised for her to find it under her daughter's tree on christmas morning. Nice I thought. Christmas morning she rang and said "Its a joke, right?" Box was empty. Had a huge amount of trouble returning that one!
Hey Troopy, next time you're down we can do coffee, I'm at Glendale

Won a bottle of wine at the cherry festival golf tournament in Manjimup WA in 2010, when we opened it a few weeks later it only had water in it! It was a screw top, John didn't notice when he opened it if in fact it had already been opened and then closed up again tightly, so we don't know whether someone in Manji had drunk the wine then refilled it and donated it for a prize, or whether it was actually a mistake at the winery.

I used to work on refunds at Target, so I've seen all sorts of problems. Most genuine, some not so genuine.
An old man wanted a replacement on his socks...said 'they're only six months old, should've lasted longer than that!'. They were disgusting! Looked like he'd worn them permanantly for that six months without ever changing them! I very pointedly picked them up with a pen and dropped them straight in the bin.
CD's and games are normally kept under the counter, so the service person should put it in.
I suggest making sure the seal hasn't been broken on a box, if there's no seal, check inside to make sure all the bits are in there.
I bought digital scales from the Reject Shop for $10. They've been great.

I better comment I suppose on what annoys me....Mmmm well my New years resolution is "Nothing is going to annoy me" Not those sloppy sales people that ignore me or call me darling! or those over cooked and too fatty fish and chips, not the rubbish left on the street or carless smokers and their butts, or loud crappy music. .....ha ha...I am a changed girl!
Happy new year everyone....I hope to meet some of you on the road someday in 2012.

Daughter bought an office chair from Office Works for her daughter a few days before Christmas. When they unpacked it they found it only had 3 castors for on the legs. Luckily when she phoned she was told they have lots of spare ones so we went in on last Sat. & got one. Nuisance though.

Yes, that's what I was thinking Pauline. I just don't know how to do it. Might have to read some instructions!
Doug, I just used Google Image with Lucille Ball in the search box. When I found this one, I right clicked and saved it, then uploaded it from there.
That's what makes me think I'll have to resize my own photos.
Sorry Rosie, I went off topic.

The actual numbers on the scales annoy me. It keeps rolling along to the BIG ones. I hate that! The other things which annoy me are tail-gaters, and people not using towing mirrors, or adding them but not using them. Speaking of packaging, I also hate it. All that paper, wrappers, and more wrappers packed into a box. Lose the packaging.
