I saw the following in the Brisbane Courier Mail yesterday...
"This website, by Cindy and Jeremy Grough, has been running since 2005 and already offers plenty of advise to Grey Nomads, either travelling in it or those just thinking about it. The authors are also responsible for the Grey Nomads Guidebook that was released in 2009. This website is a little hard to navigate at times but theres still lots of up-to-date info and an active discussion forum with tips and advise from other travellers."
It was an article about web sites that may be of interest to travellers.

Me too. It's one of the easiest sites to work with. I'm a dinosaurette and I can do it. If I can do it anyone can. I don't have any relatives called Einstein, that I know of. And after all these years it's still a good fun and informative friendly site. Great job everyone.

I can't see how it's hard to navigate either. The only thing I can see that many other forums have but not here is a new posts tab, where new posts can be seen irrespective of what section they have been posted in.
Also, within the sections, new subject threads go to the top, it can be a bit frustrating having to go back several pages to find and see if you need to reply to a thread you had responded to earlier, but required another reply in response etc.
So, while the best forum I have been on, some of the things could be improved in that regards IMHO. I think this has been mentioned before here and also to Cindy.

I don't find it hard to navigate my way around the site. I am not a member on any other sites and don't intend to be. All the people here are great and full of great ideas and are all very happy people, we all have the same interest in travel and that's what I like about it.
Thankyou to everyone here and a very big thankyou to Cindy for all her hard work.

Gday...
I believe the author was stating the 'website' was condidered difficult to navigate, not the actual forum.
"This website is a little hard to navigate at times but theres still lots of up-to-date info and an active discussion forum with tips and advise from other travellers."
Despite that, I find this forum very easy to work through, definitely better than at least two others I am a member of.
And this forum seems to have the best camaraderie.
Cheers

Can't see whats hard about it myself. On the front page are obvious, self explanatory headings that link to what they say &, when you go there, the same headings are still on the left side. THe forum is laid out much the same as many others with the option to select last modified or start date order etc and a menu to take you to any of the other forums.
I think the author on the Brisbane Courier Mail is either dyslexic or just looking for fault.
Plus, I bet we also have the prettiest moderator...or is that sexist??
Well done Cindy on a great site.
Cheers
Jon

It is one of the easiest website to navigate. I am on lots of others but not as often as this one. They are not so easy to navigate so I give up on them.

If you click on your name at the top right corner you can see what you have commented on or sites you have recently read and then you don't have to scroll back through pages.

When we started the planning stage of our travels it was this site and the various forums and most importantly the people who use this site that set us on the right path. I've been in the computer side of things for 20 + years and I would say it's a very easy site to navigate compared to many others. Once again I would like to say how encouraging the people you meet on this site and as far as the management of the site, it's a real big well done to Cindy.

My post got everyone talking it seems.
Being a member of a forum is a first for me, and I've not bothered with any others. I'm very happy to stick to this one, I find it easy enough to navigate, and everyone is friendly and helpful. I feel like I'm part of a club.
I reckon the author of the article was just looking for something to say, or isn't much of a techno person himself/herself! I didn't take any notice of the authors name.
I'm not advertising, but the other sites he/she suggested looking at were inomad.com.au , tripadvisor.com.au and virtualtourist.com. I haven't had a chance to check them out yet, but I'm about to do just that.
Thanks Cindy and Jeremy.

My operation is pretty straightforward on here ..
I log in automatically unless I've already logged in when answering any Private Messages ..
I go straight to "User Details" and thats about it for navigating .. all I usually need is then in front of me ..
