Hi Rip and Rosie,
It's Mendooran I think you mean, it's not a bad place, lots of room, flush toilets, cold shower, some tank water. Might be lucky and catch a fish in river.
We've stayed there a few times, another nice one in that area is Binnaway - flush toilets hot showers for a $1 or $2. Power is $2 for 3 hours, lovely clean place.
cheers Val

We have stayed at Mendooran a few times.
Good spot for a night or two.
Just dont blindly follow your GPS.
Our not so old Garmin wanted us to take left turn before the Bridge on the edge of town when travelling from Dubbo. After setting up camp and going for a walk you could see there was a road there many years ago, but no sign of a bridge across the river.

We stopped over there last May........... bloody freezing but a good spot for a few days sadly like a lot of country towns it is dying.
Another good spot close by is Binnaway. free camp, $2 for 3 hours of power and $1 for a hot shower.

Yes, we have also camped there....lovely spot but was very much in need of a grass cut when we were there.
Cold showers only from memory and flush toilets. I'd go back, no hesitation.
Check out the murals in town.

We've just spent a week at Mendooran over Easter, we were planning to stay 2 nights but ended up staying a week.
Our GPS lead us to the wrong side of the river too, the camp ground is behind the Police Station.
Huge site, plenty of room for everyone, quiet location, cold showers and flushing toilets. Close to the village.
The pub meals are very good, a new chef had started the day before we arrived.
The butcher shop sells the best thin beef sausages we have ever tasted.
Was really hot when we were there, the locals told us that the temperatures were higher than they had been during summer.
We've put Mendooran on the definitely stay again list.
anyone ever stayed at Mundooran?
Its a free camp about 30 minutes from Dunedoo.
