Take care, make a lot of noise so she wakes up, works everytime. No seriously some people dont make the best room mates. Wishing you well, and your leg starts healing quickly. lynette

Your're no wrong about some people in the hospitals.
Don't they have a "lights out" policy?
I would have called a nurseand politely asked could they ask the woman to turn the light out after 10pm.
Forty Six staples? You'll be able to start a stationary store soon.
Take it easy and get well.

That woman would never qualify as a GN thank goodness .. We would never even inconsiderately do that to another .. hehe
We're too full on sharing happiness eh ! .. this is part of your quality time now Della .. make the most of it 'cause you'll be back out here again soon ..
When someone makes me a coffee .. " how many sugars ? " I say 3 please .. "but you shouldn't have so much sugar .. its not good for you!" I say that if I'm not sweet enough, then I just cant share it around ..
Be selfish sometimes .. it helps !
thinking of you both

I had a heart turn a few months ago, and they kept me in emergency for 28 hours, as they couldn,t find a bed, strung up like an xmas tree. Then, when they found a bed in the heart unit, they discharged me. No sleep for nearly 2 days! My local hospital needs more beds, as, I suppose, a lot of hospitals do. Hope you get better soon. Bill

You will be amazed at how well your leg is going to heal Della, the more stitches and staples the neater they have been I reckon, pretty freaky to look at for afew days though I know -but the body is an amazing bit of gear and it's healing power is a force to be reckoned with. The bible says "in a fear inspiring way we are wonderfully made" how true is that ? your little cells are running madly making new bits and healing the invasion without let up. Increadable Hey? Keep your chin up and the lady next door will probably calm down on her second night, If not - ring your buzzer and tell the nurse that you can't sleep in that room and hope she hears you all the best in your recovery.

What they all said, especially the bit about the body healing. Even a sick body heals at an amazing rate. Those staples are a bit hard to remove. I had 30-odd when I had my hysterectomy and they removed them in 2 stages. Every alternate 1, then the next day the rest. Unfortunately they hurt. Do whatever you can to keep active and mobile to keep the circulation happening. That's why your legs feel funny. Wriggle your toes as much as you can, and circle your ankles if you can. The best one, only if you can, is to push your heels down on to the bed with your legs as straight as possible without locking your knees. By then the physio should be there to get you up and running again. After my spinal surgery they had leg bags on me to massage my legs mechanically until I could get up and about.
