catch is you have to buy 2 cartons of beer - plus another 4c per litre if you spend $5 in the servo shop - up to 150 litres - so happy me - beer and full jerry cans

I had an 8 cents a litre coupon for Coles in Daylesford last week. I also went to buy 2 marshmallow easter bunnies. The lady said if you get 3 it works out cheaper as 3 for 4.00. When I checked my docket down the road later I found I had got an extra 2 cents a litre of the fuel for buying the easter bunnies. 10 cents a litre off and the easter bunnies were yumm.

So, $40 each for 2 cartons beer, plus $5 in the servo shop= $85
Diesel is $1.48 litre locally, less 30 cent discount= $1.18. My tank holds 75 litres, so fillup = $85.50.
Total cost to me = $170.50
Cost of diesel without the discount = $111.
and I'm not stuck lugging around 2 cartons of beer I didn't need, and a couple of packets of chips or ice cream from the servo I didn't want either.
I bought 150 litres deisal which we will use over the next couple of weeks and I will drink the beer ($34 per carton) over the next month or so and it is actually .34 c discount all up - yes you have to do the sums to see if its worthwhile

I did my weekly shop at Coles yesterday and spent over $100 so got a voucher for .16c a litre off. Not bad as it was my normal shopping.

I never buy anything I don't need. Even if I have actioned the offer online for a higher petrol diso**** and groc have to be bought by Sunday and I have to spend a certain amount. I don't go buying those groceries if I don 't need anything. That is just wasting money you don't have.

And the bunnies were needed for yoiur sanity hey Marj!
I use the discounts too, without buying anything I don't already intend buying.

Sounds good to me, and from what Dunco, Delta & Barry and others have posted they don't have anything the don't want, the beer would have a short shelf life so not wasted within their normal consumption.
Must be a further escalation of the price war between Coles and Woolies, what next?
