Jimbo said in the weekly mailbag that he wouldn't get in one in case they crashed. Well, I have to say I've been in one - my daughter bought me a flight for my birthday a few years ago. They are expensive, about $400 but well worth it. The company I went with - Balloon Sunrise - were very safety conscious, constantly checking with the weather bureau before the flight (it was cancelled once because of high winds predicted) and all the pilots are qualified fixed wing pilots. It was a most magical experience and a lot of fun. You would have to be very unlucky for something to go wrong.
I too have been in a balloon flight, mine was over Turkey, amazing, i got some vids some where.. i cant understand how that tragic accident happend over in NZ doesnt make sense..

Gday...
It is wise to remember .................
you have the highest chance of dying (or being injured) driving on the open highway than of being affected by ANY OTHER activity.
Cheers

I will go along with that, when I am driving I always make sure I am wearing clean undies, just in case I have an accident and go to hospital.

Clean undies is a good idea but if you have an accident then they may be soiled before you get to hospital.LOL
