Hi all.My wife and i have been on the road for the past 17 months and thoroughly enjoying it.We are currently insured by APIA for both the car and van but i am wondering if there are any other companies out there that offer a better deal. The ones i have checked are not interested in insuring you if you are doing the 'big lap' for a few years. We are using my brother in laws residential address for all mail but i am hesitant to supply that address as it is not our garaging address and that could make any claim void.
Apart from that we are having a ball.Don't let anyone tell you there is no work avaliable to those who want it.We are currently doing the vintage in the Barossa valley area in SA and have had three offers since to do the same work (cellar hand),bear in mind neither of us has done a vintage before !!!! We have also been asked to get back here for next years vintage.
Take care

G/Day John/Chris, We are NSW, had every thing with NRMA, car x2 /van/Boat/ house/contents. When we finished work we checked out many other companies that offered seniour/ pension discounts, none came any where near what we already had.So we stayed put.

Hi John & Chris
I joined the CMCA about 4 years ago firstly for the insurance but also for other benefits that are offered.
CMCA wil only insure both van and tow vehicle together but I found the price to good to miss. I pay quarterly without any penalty and get the account online.
Regards Chris

Hi John
You will have to join the CMCA to get insurance with them. The initial cost is around $62 for the first year and then it drops down to around $40 per year.
The $40 is easilt recoverable just by using the complimntary book called the Wanderes Mate. It is similer the the Camps books only it does list free or cheap camps that the members have discovered. You also get a monthly magazine called The Wanderer and discounts at certain varavan parks etc.
