A GPS is only as good as the maps installed and a lot of people just follow the GPS blindly, in my opinion those people simply don't have the brains they were born with.

I hope someone posts a video or picture.... we just MIGHT recognise someone from here..... lol. Come to think of it, when we returned to Aust after living in the USA for 4 years I, on a couple of occassions drove off down the wrong side of the road....usually after doing a 3 point turn or something disorientating... scary

Struth! What a scary thing to come across in a tunnel!
When I was 10, I can remember Dad going the wrong way on a street in Canberra. Luckily it was very early in the morning and a passing milkman told Dad.
I think of it now, and realise Dad wouldn't have come across those sort of roads before. Brisbane was a big country town in 1964.

My gosh, it wasn't just the tunnel but the westgate bridge as well. He must have made a huge mistake to even find an entrance onto the bridge which he drove over first before he came to the tunnel. He could be one of ours. He is 80. Well at least he must be grey and towing a caravan he must be a nomad. lol

I think we do have a couple, Jack for one and maybe others, not to say they would do such a thing.
Many moons ago I had lived in PNG for 18 months and when I returned to Perth on my first day was driving down Hay Street (before part became a mall) which had been two way before I was last there.
I had all these people waving to me and thought, gee, Perth people haven't changed, still as friendly as ever. Eventually I did stop and one of them told me it was now a one way street and I was going the wrong way.
Boy, how embarrasing, but luckily nobody was hurt.

Several years back, the Psycopathic ex and I went to Sydney to see his brother.
We had to get to Bondi first, where his brother was staying, then out to St Mary's to his sisters place. It was peak hour Friday arvo!
I was to navigate...
I had a map but it didn't show one way streets, so it all ended with me telling him to 'stop the car, I'll drive and you navigate'! Well, we couldn't have that could we...he was an ex rally driver!
I'll save you the rest. I should write a book!

Coming up on Channel 7 at 6 pm will be a story on this. They just showed a photo of his car and caravan in the ads. Oldish looking car, either black or navy blue. Caravan an older style yellow/cream with brown stripes. They showed it parked.

He's from Otway Ranges and was heading to East Gippsland. The police said they weren't sure if he realised he was driving against the traffic. How could you not know, even on a Sunday there would be plenty of traffic in Melbourne.

HW, I was only saying how old they both were.
HW, If they take his licence off of him that will not stop him driving, look at all the people you hear on the news that have lost their licence and still drive and get caught again and again, the reason they do it is because our judges do not issue bigger fines to deter these people.
Vic, is that all you can say?
JRH, Mrs JRH thinks you are 80

I always cringe when I read anything to do with bad driving by any Grey Nomad....I keep thinking of all the ribbing ( Friendly) I get from the Boys at my club.
Because I am sooooo perfect at driving I'm begining to feel some sort of test is required....This old bloke must have something wrong with him to do this

I feel sort of sorry for him. I know I have come close a few times when turning right into a divided road I have nearly gone onto the wrong side, especially if the divided bit is very wide. Once he got onto the wrong side it would be a bit hard to do a quick 3 point turn with a caravan to get the hell out of there. And once you have got onto the freeway there are no exits to take. What a nightmare for the poor bloke.

They named him on TV tonight and showed his face. I'm not prepared to put his name on here.
The police said they can't have checks on the elderly as it is not always their age causing the problem but maybe some condition they have. They would prefer for family to dob them in when they think it necessary.
Yeh right, Look what happened when milo tried to do that with his dad. Didn't work out too well did it.
