Milo, check out the Canberra Motor Village in O'Connor, phone 02 6247 5466. Closest to town, but surrounded by bushland. Also the Riverside Caravan park in Queanbeyan is nice, and fairly quick to get into town too.
I'd make a booking fairly soon as you want a unit, if I were you.
Also theres a YHA hostel right in town if you are interested in something cheap and cheerful.

Capital Country just off the Federal Hwy at Sutton is not bad. If you are a member of Family Parks you get discount. The Eaglehawk is a bit run down but not too bad, also has the hotel next door with really good steak that you cook yourself on a slab of granite at your table. Both places are only about 10 mins out of town

Good to see you happy Milo- long time since I've been to Canberra - so can't recommend anything. Hope you have a great trip - enjoy yourself, and glad to see you and your dad are on better terms now.

The cabins seem OK in the Queanbeyan Park but there is no way I would take a van in there ever again. Tried it three times which was twice too many.
The facilities are filthy and you have to have EXTRA long chords and hoses to connect to the power and water.
Just my opinion as I know another couple who love going there.

There is only one van park in Queanbeyan Milo and it's called the Riverside.
It may have been called White Ibis in another life, I don't know

Actually theres 2 in Qbn Ma, the other one is called the Crest View or something similar in Donald Road. Very tightly packed from memory, but its many years since I stayed there. Probably cheaper though Milo. The White Ibis was/is out of town on the North side, I think they have changed their name... theres a couple there, dont know much about them as too far out from us, but might suit somebody who wanted to visit on the Northside or go into town.

That's right Gert. I forgot the one in Donald Road. I don't think it takes vans any more, though I could be wrong and yes it would be sardine time up there.
