At home near Perth pretending we are free camping, got a burst water pipe in the yard near the building, so water turned off at the meter and living out of buckets until Monday, weekend rates being $480 for a call out, then labour and parts on top of that so will have to wait for Monday for repairs at more reasonable rates (pensioners).
I have dug down to the burst pipe and it is pouring out (or was until I turned the meter taps off) so hate to see what the next water bill will be like.
PS: Had the campervan water tank full and a couple of water containers filled and ready to do a trip, so at least have some drinking water to add to the water supply.

Apart from the ski boats on the Murray it is way to quiet here at Psyches Bend near Mildura.
Just for a bit of fun, where is everyone tonight? Free camping? Caravan Park? House sitting? At home dreaming or planning?

It would appear we may have been lucky to get 'on the road' today - we had around 90mm last night at home, not a real lot of fun trying to pack our van. We also hear that the Mary River at Gympie is due to peak at 16m tomorrow morning (Sun), which makes us wonder if we would have got through if we had left it another 24 hrs as we thought we might have to. Could not believe the amount of water everywhere up as far as Maryborough. At present it is a very pleasant evening at Lake Monduran, just north of Gin Gin.

I'm going to enjoy a mango. They are the juiciest mangoes, I think from the Atherton Tablelands. It's going to be hot to start with tomorrow after a warm night, and then a change is forecast with maybe a storm. Better go and shift the sprinkler again to keep the grass green and cool.

At home in the burbs.
Trying to get the laptop back to how I like it. It seems that windows mouse driver got corrupted. The repair guy had to re install windows .. so there goes all my personal settings and programs. A bloody pain getting it back working my way. I learn a lot doing it but forget it all by the next time.
Planning for another kayak attack on the red claw at Somerset as soon as the rain stops. Maybe the week after next with Neighbour & my son.
Then off to Port Macquarie with some family for the Iron Man in May.

Too hot for much today. Neighbour had a noisy get together last night which lasted until 11.30 - today!! Also some local hoons had drag races and burn outs by the sound of it. Certainly not conducive to rest
So tonight it is fans on and rather quiet and peaceful ..... so I can get back to planning my next getaway which will be in about 10 days

Sorry to hear about your troubles .. but ...
My son the plumber was over today to fit an almost new flick mixer to the kitchen sink .. freebe of course.
He was just leaving when he got a call from a block of units just around the corner, with a burst pipe that had flooded one unit.
A nice saturday earner. Maybe a reward for doing his Mother a good turn.
