Where is the rest of your mail going in your absence? How will it get to you? While you're itinerant there is no rule about changing your drivers licence to any particular state, so keep it where it is and have the mail redirected with everything else.

I've left my Racv and Vic Roads with my daughters address, so much easier as I will be down there 3 or 4 times a year at least.

In the past we have nominated a post office in the area where we plan to be and our Daughter sends it on to there and we then identify ourselves and pick it up this worked well when we were in W.A. and will be using this system in North QLD this year.
