I think a while ago some of us was talking about buying the fly screen curtain from Big W that you could adapt to the van doors we have got one have worked on adapting it today but find that the velcro strips are not really strong enough have others found this I know that Dougwe has the same van as ours how did you cope with it Doughwe. Is the velcro around the outside? Maybe stronger velcro or magnetic stips to attach to vehicle doorway? You can get stronger velcro on rolls, from Bunnings, and it is self-adhesive and quite strong.

The velcro is on the inside of the van Chris just inside the doorway put it up this afternoon as a try out and a wind blew the thing off so would need to be pretty strong self adhesive stuff I think unless there is some kind of glue that you can use. Helena.

Hi Helena, I haven't done anything about it yet. I'm thinking of trying to rig up a screen on a hook system so I just hook up when needed and take down when not. A bit of thought and some makeshift coming up.
I have tried the self sticky velcro and kept coming off originally so gave up on that idea.

I bought a roll of velcro dots from Bunnings for mine. They seem to be a lot stronger than the strips. Only put it up when needed, parked up and sliding door open.

You can get offcuts of magnetic strips from some signwriters - I presume you don't want to leave them on permanently. I have them on my cottage here on the front and back doors, but because they are staying in place I used a hot glue gun to make dots around door frames.
The velcro strips they supply are not strong enough - but you can buy genuine velcro on rolls from Bunnings or Spotlight - make sure it is genuine Velcro brand. Better grip - and wider than that supplied.

I have tried the velcro from spotlight there is no problem with the two sides sticking together, the problem is sticking the velcro to the van..........it just doesn't hold onto the aluminium walls, I've tried everything I can think of and have now given up so will be happy to hear if anyone succeeds

Magnetic strip won't work on aluminium, but it will work on camper van steel. Last resort if you reject the idea of 6 inch nails is teck screws. Or hang it from a curtain cable along the top of the doorway, and then just velcro it to the sides where it's not under any weight, but just to hold it there so the bugs don't fine their way in. Who would have thought that a good idea would be so hard to implement. Good luck.

Hi Judy ..
Unfortunately, that site changes the items they are promoting all the time .. so folks might not see what you are referring to ..
They're dearer than the ones already referred to Barina.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Crikey, I paid $10.00 for mine from Cheap as Chips, velcro is holding onto the door frame of caravan, no issues with that but I have added some more velcro dots.
This has been a life saver in Parachilna, the flies are atrocious, so with the screen up, we have less issues than opening the caravan's fly screen door and carrying the fly in on your back.
