I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful couple of hours getting to know GertyDancer and Mr D today. Thank you so much for coming over for a drive and spending that time with me at the cafe (the only one in town)
We got on like a house on fire, like we had been best friends forever.
Hoping Gerty will put up the photo of us when you come on line.

We met some last month and it felt as if we already knew them. The benefits of belonging to GN forum.

We've had a fantastic day, its such beautiful country on the way from Mundubbera to Biggendon, and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Marj.
Thanks Rosie, the photo turned out well, certainly proof we didn't imagine it. Got home to find my cabinet had aleady been delivered so had to get it inside as they had put it in the garage. Then slide it to the back of the house, clean it and put it in place, now all my kitchen "stuff" is shelved beautifully. Then went visiting to have a look at fridge, lovely couple. will go pay them tomorrow and the hubby is going to deliver it for me. What a busy day, the highlight being meeting you both. Hope we meet again soon.

You're looking good Marj, considering your recent movements and lifestyle change. In fact you're looking quite settled. Nice to see you both. It's always great to meet fellow GN's. Life is good.

Same here Lyn, I spent 6 months travelling last year and only met one person from this site and that was Pauline and we had a lovely lunch at the pub in Canungra. I would have loved to catch up with a few more, maybe on my next trip
A great pic of Gerty and Marj too good to see you looking happy Marj

It is quite easy to arrange a meet girls. It's not like we pass in the night and see a sticker and stop the other van. Gerty PM'd me saying she was only about 80 ks away from where I live and they would love to come over for a coffee so we arranged a day. Where do you live lyn? gillyb I know you live somewhere in Melbourne, like some of the others who turned up at Greens lake, they just saw the opportunity to meet some Grey Nomads so made the trip up, even if just for the day.

It's great to meet up with GN's from this forum and any other GN's for that matter. One thing I have found out though if you do arrange a get together allow at least 3-4 hours because the ones I have been involved in have lasted that long. It never seems that long at the time but they are. It's amazing how much information gets passed around and I have always come home knowing more than when I left. I would never say no to a get together with GN's form here. GREAT STUFF. Never change anyone.

Thanks Doug, was great to meet you too. lol You are exactly right, you need to allow a few hours to acquire all that wonderful knowledge the other grey nomad has.

well happy wanderer, we live in our van it is our home, so where ever it is is home, after all isnt that the idea of being a grey nomad. to and get out there to see whats out there, on another note i have met some nice people in CPs but none from here and they dont even know about this site.
but it would be nice to meet some people from the site, and i think a lot of people who call themselves grey nomads dont travel full time they usually have a house some where and stay there most of the time. so when they go away isnt that a holiday. would be interesting to know the percentages.

Thats the point I was making lyn. GertyDancer and hubby were in their van travelling, made contact on here and arranged a meet. If I know there is someone in my area I can do the same. But I wouldn't know unless they posted on here. By the way, the only time I have seen Grey Nomad stickers was at Greens lake when there was a lot of us together and like you I have made some lovely friends in my overnight stops who are not on this site and knew nothing about it either.

I haven't met any GN's. I can only blame myself though, as I tend to camp away from others, bush camps are the most peaceful.

PM me if you are ever in the Biggenden area Jack Biggles, would love to meet you.
If you would like to meet up with others, post your location fairly regularly and simply contact anybody who posts, or says on their biog that they are in your area, by pm. Have had a few misses, and a few really great "hits!" with this method.

Not sure if you mean the Qld border or the Vic border. Or where you left from Jack Biggles, but Biggenden is close to Childers, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Gin Gin, or Ban Ban Springs, Kingaroy, Munduberrah. There are plenty of options for whoever is in the area. And in your case Jack Biggles, if you actually stated where or close to where you are on the NSW border I am sure there will be someone in the vicinity.
