I've just put our names down to be volunteers at the check points on the Mareeba-Chillagoe annual wheelbarrow race in mid May. Should be fun. Is anyone else from GN likely to be there? This is in north Qld

What fun! Gee thats a long way to push a barrow, but then the pioneers did it.... they were tough all right. Sorry we'll miss it.

There is a wheel barrow trail from Charters towers to the Palmer goldfields where miners used to follow the Burdiken up to the tablelands carrying their worldly possesions in tne barrow. Tough people those gold diggers.
