Lulu's almost ready for her maiden trip! Even though she only has to go an hour down the road to Cobb & Co from her home at Tin Can Bay, it'll be a good trial run.
After much discussion and research by both b-i-l and myself, we both bought solar panels from ebay. Mine is an 80watt and was $179. I also bought a deep cycle battery with 105AH at $225.
He's been doing the wiring, testing everything works okay, and checked the fridge and stove on gas.
So exciting! Looking forward to showing her off to my GN mates at Cobb & Co!

Why do you sound so excited Beth?
I know, you are ready to hit the road and get away from the rat race, great stuff. I hope you enjoy out there and keep safe.
It's good that you checked out the fridge too, at least you know the drinks will be cold for happy hour.

My feet have been itching to get going since I bought her last year!
When I bought Lulu, the previous owner had shown me that it all worked, except on 12V, because there was no battery at the time. But I hadn't given a lengthy run on gas.
Yes, most important to keep the happy hour drinks cold. My sister tells me it's getting cold there already, so the drinks may be of the warmer kind. I better buy some more red to warm the old bones!

A bit cool here last night Beth, also down to mid 20s today. Decided I had better close all the windows tonight. Still in short sleeve and 3/4 pants though. Can't wait to see you and Lulu, we can compare upgrades.

Thanks all.
I've heard that about ginger wine too, but I hate ginger. Maybe some warm milk with Kahlua.
Marj, I'm still in 3/4's during the day if I'm out and about. My little place is quite cool, so warmer clothes at home.
Off to Scarborough tomorrow to meet a couple of cousins for lunch at Morgan's Seafood Market. Now the clouds are gone, it should be a lovely sunny Autumn day by the water.

Many years back, as a young thing, I was camping in NZ in May, yes May...................... so cold, slept in everything I had with me, plus hat, scarf, and threw the luggage on top for good measure. Was travelling with a group, and a Canadian exchange teacher was much more comfortable in the cold. When I commented, she said it wasn't the Canadian climate so much, but the couple of "Rusty Nails" she drank in the evening to ward off the chill.
Rusty Nails became popular with us all after that.
Scotch and Drambuie, sometimes over ice, sometimes with a beer chaser.
