Although I was building a lounge into my bus I was given a ripper two seater lounge by a friend the type that fold out into a bed, its got the trampoline base so its quiet comfy anyway, waltzes down to the bus with said lounge and bugger the door way is too small, so had a scratch and a beer and decided ill get it in there if I have to cut a hole in the roof and drop it in, then the father in law notices these bolts that hold the ends on the lounge, took these out and off came the ends, now it fitted but lefts only a bees whisker either side, so its stuffe din the door way now so tomorrow ill hop in and knock out the framing i put in and fit the lounge into place, another problem solved lol, now i hope the fridge she gave me will fit coz its a ball tearer Ill be deeply annoyed if its a no go

would like to see pics .... thats one thing id rather have in a motor home is a lounge of some sort, those little dinette things like we have in ours are ok but not as comfy as a loung..

Some of this "furniture" is about stability. We can't have things floating around inside while we travel down the highway. All sorts of damage can be done to walls and other fittings. However, if you can secure it, bolt it in, a comfortable lounge would be good if you have room. And I'd love to see the visuals of this too. Cartoons and animations have been created from less inspiration.

We have a sofa that becomes a double bed. Very comfortable & good if you have o/n visitors. My daughter & grand daughter have slept on it. Also handy if one of us, chauffeur and i, are having a bad night & don't want to disturb the other.

kandangal is that your motorhome? if it is im in love with it , dont get me wrong i do love our van but your set up is amazing its huge ,i always did like the idea of being able to get in the drivers seat and take off if you needed to especially when there are such maniacs out there these days.
weve in the old days always pulled up on the side of a road out in the middle of nowhere in the gulf and camped but there were a lot of us travelling together in those days, guess we are just going to have to figure out how to have something at the door of the van ready for the just in case

A spray bottle with something nasty is good. Anything to sting the eyes. Eucalyptus and water mix, or vinegar water mix eg. Weapons can be turned on you. Spray won't do any long-term damage but will daze them enough so you can get the upper hand. If you park more than 20kms away from a town and the site is clean and tidy you should be right. Messy parking bays with cans, bottles and grog boxes are a no go zone no matter how far out of town.

Get a Derby handled solid timber walking stick (hollow sticks are worthless), metal bottom or hard thin rubber cap on end. Who knows, there might be one around with a deer horn or brass handle. If so, get it.
Just use your imagination for the possible defensive strokes, including poking. Close quarters you don't have to swing it. An example could be simply thrusting the handle you are holding forward into a chest, head, pelvis or whatever. You don't have to be strong and you don't have to be a good aim, it doesn't take much in the way of a protrusion on the handle to do some painful damage in close and your instinctive treaction is to push him away. Some solid Red Deer antler helps.
Useful for strolls on tracks as a bonus.
Just a thought shared among friends..
