ITs a great spot Ken .. lotsa room !
when you come from Charters Towers .. you arrive at the creek .. turn right before you cross the bridge .. follow the dirt track to the end where you can turn around .. (dont tell anybody, but there are a few camping spots down there with concrete slabs !) ..

Its not that bad Jim .. Fortunately when I'm on my own I'm able to drive for long periods .. still had 7 hrs sleep at Dululu before leaving at 0545 .. and never went over 90 ..
Very dry here Jim .. grass is 2 ft long everywhere .. not a good feeling when one considers a fire breakout .. but .. I'm heading further north tomorrow as heavy rains are predicted in the area for Wednesday ..
cheers
Jon

You folk heading north or thereabouts might like to check a freecamp.. Rifle Creek, just a short walk north of Mount Molloy..is a goodie!
Also Bramston Beach via Mirriwinni.. budget council park
Also Murray Falls, a bit north of Cardwell donation NP camp
