Those of you who visit Tassie can have a taste of the best home made sausages.
Best steak and sausages comes from the butcher in Boggabilla just south of Qld border.

I like those thick beef sausages . ( the ones that are bad for you I s'pose ) .
Kootingal Butchery , just north of Tamworth has really good ones .
Stewart Terrace Butchery in Gympie , very good snags .
We recently bought some from a butcher in Charleville that were spot-on too . Can't remember the name of the shop , but it is just behind the big pub that has closed down . Right in the middle of the main shopping area .

We met and had a yarn with the famous Georgetown butcher (because of the huge area he serves).
Bought pork sausages from him as we left town (he'd no beef left)
Have to tell you they were very ordinary, a big disappointment!
Ah well, I guess we can all get it wrong occasionally but my advice would be to stick with the beef snags...

My ex was a butcher, and his customers said he made great snags. But after seeing how they were made and what goes into them, theres no way I'll ever eat sausages again!!! Sad, I used to like snags.

We can recomend the butcher at Bingara, NSW. New England Tablelands. Very good snags & T-Bones that are plate size & just melt. I'll be back when in the area again.

The real country butchers usually take pride in their product, and snags are no exception. There's a butcher in Lyndoch, Barossa, SA who used to do beauties. The Barossa Valley butchers who kill and process their own are the place to go. I'm not a fan of beef snags, but port and good bbq are usually full of flavour and hopefully not bread crumbs.
