Hi guys its Laurie here I would like to know if anyone can help me with finding a breakaway tow hitch.I want to to flat tow my suzuki vitara which will be on an a frame behind a toyota coaster bus.Is this a good way to do it and do I really need a breakaway unit??Hope you can help.Cheers guys

Hi Laurie,
Have a look at the following sites for info about towing systems.
Both have towing systems suitable for flat towing.You will have to look out the towing section from their homepages.
Northcoach have the Aventa LX and the Ready Brute systems.
Janer have the American Sterling system for various tow weights.
I have the Hitch-N-Go to flat tow a Suzuki Grand Vitara which I modified and changed to a Mchitch sytem as I am not a lover of Towballs.Check out the video on the mchitch site
I have only one gripe about the Hitch-N-go and that is lining up the A frame to attach to the RV.
The system needs to be lined up fairly accurately and not out of line.
With some of the others they have telescopic arms which make it easier to attach as there is more room to line up the towed vehicle.
I know the sterling ones can have the arms at different lenghths to make it much easir to attach and they autolock when towing to keep the A frame rigid.A much better idea and also have the ability to be folded and locked along the rear bumper bar when not in use.Something I wish I knew about before my purchase.
The Hitch-N-Go does the job perfectly well but with the advantages the Sterling has I wished I had known earlier .It can also take the mchitch which the others can't.
One other thing to consider is the addition of spray suppressant matting to your mudflaps.
Most Truck accessory companys sell a spray suppressant matting that you can face your mudflaps with to keep spray down and help keep stones from damaging your towed vehicle .
My mate told me about it and I have since taken the stoneguard off the A frame and just use the matting on the mudflaps.
Works a treat and less to lug about.
