Biggenden - stay one night and get the next one free

Stayed there last year where the rule then was 2 nights free after 5 days & then the owners (local council) jacked the rates up substantially over all their parks.
Recently stayed at Lorikeet CP, Arrawarra (near Woolgoolga on NSW north coast) for a week and paid for 5, excellent park with an excellent promotion. Must say I`m pretty ignorant of coastal park pricing, but couldn`t help notice that their usual winter dailey rate was $32.50 pn x 2ADS rising to $60 pn at Christmas.

I have a friend who just booked into there. He advised that this stay one night and get the next one free ends at the end of the month.

Top Tourist at Gol Gol Mildura also has a special - stay 5 nights and pay for 4 which gives you twice the club discount.

May I ask what this club discount is please? I have read it on various posts now but no clues as to what it is. . . Michelle

So the club discount at Top Tourist is 10% of your total cost (up to a certain amount per stay) - after you have paid for 2 years membership. Each group has a different pricing structure.

Michelle...I take it you are serious with that last comment ??, if yes I`ll try and clarify the story for you.........the 3 caravan park chains mentioned offer discounts to those folk that become members of their club. As said previously they offer different levels of discount and it depends on how often you use them as to whether the discount is worthwhile, given that you pay a membership fee for 2 years of about $40/50 during that period.
Personally we have let our membership of the Big 4 chain slip as we rarely use that chain these days..........it`s a very personal matter and each individual needs to make their own choice......so hope that helps.

Well this thread has well and truly been hi-jacked hasn't it? I started this thread to see the reaction to the change of conditions at the park. It looks like everyone else has taken it to be a report on a park that is good value. The facts are that the good value is about to be severely trashed.

I have been going there for over 8 years. The park has been gettin more custom each year. There was a bit of a hiatus whilst they were building a dam in the area, but that left the park with many more sites and a new amenities block. Last year I was there nearly all the sites were occupied.
The manager was showing me the booking in sheets. Everyone on them was for two nights. He could not comprehend that most of them would not be there if the two nights was not on offer. There was only a hand full of campers and semi permanents staying more than the two nights.

I will comment on the purpose of this thread then even though I have never used the caravan park. It will be a shame if they do away with the buy one night get one free. That would be something that would encourage people to use the CP and come to this very small town that needs all it can get to survive.

Been for a drive, CP very full. There was also some sort of MGB rally on as heaps of the cars parked both sides of the road outside the CP.

I misunderstood entirely, didnt know they have been giving 2-for-1 for a long time, and thought you were advising us of a special for this month PeterD!

I appreciate your post was to do with a CP losing it's discount but does it really matter if some note other CPs doing the same thing? I'm sorry - I'm a lateral thinker and your post led me to another thought.

I was talking to my neighbour about it this afternoon, she's been here forever. She said Typical, the council own it and once again greedy councils.

Hey Whiteman,
Yes I was serious thanks for your response, I very much appreciate it and I don't think we need to be club members at all thanks to you *grins*. You made the decision easier to make.
