The Glengarry Big 4 Caravan Park at Port Douglas is putting on a Country Music Muster/Concert on Saturday 15th Sep 2012. Tickets are $50 per adult and include a powered site for that date. The concert will be held in the park from 4pm to midnight. The details are on their website.
I was disappointed I couldn't make the Gympie Muster this year....too far....too cold....too expensive, so was pleased to be able to get tickets for this country bash. It looks like fun and a good price for a concert. The powered site included in the ticket price clinched it for us.
When I called in there today for the tickets I was told that no byo can be taken into the concert as they will have a bar with the proceeds of that going to the local football club. Nothing to stop us having a few drinks at the van before we enter the enclosure of course. They will be selling food as well, mainly for those in tents I expect.
Just thought i should pass this on in case others on the forum are country fans and will be in the area!

Has anyone been to Tamworth for the Country music Festival? I was wondering how expensive it is there at that time and the concerts too?

Would have loved to have heard Kenny Rogers again Pam - I went to a concert of his in Auckland in the 80's.
Yes Doug, the Port Douglas concert is actually being held in the grounds of the 'Glengarry Big 4' caravan park just outside Port Douglas. Be nice to go to a concert and not have to drive home, just wander back to the van. And there is no minimum ticket number either, so people traveling alone get a free site when they buy a single ticket. The VP looked nice enough, I had a quick look around.

Book into the showground. A little primitive but its the cheapest you will find. Get there early to ensure you get power and water. Tamworth has everything from Bush Ballads (my type of country) to the modern head banging country (not my type of country) Tamworth is still pretty good but nowhere as good as it used to be
