Hi Solar, On the new Hiace diesels the thing on the window says 8 point something litres to the 100 klms. I've got the 2.5 litre diesel and have been to Brisbane from Sydney (about 1000klms) on just over the 70litre tank. Sorry I can't be more accurate. I do drive at 80 to 90 kph generally and don't accelerate hard if I can avoid it.
I'm happy with the diesel, and I think the petrol is around 11 litres to the 100klms from the windscreen sticker on the new ones. I doubt you would be disappointed with either. There doesn't seem to be a lot of diesel Hiace campervans around.

I do have a Toyota HiAce on petrol, solar. I may be able to tell you tomorrow night what my fuel consumption is like. I left here on a full tank the other day. Have done 300ks and will fill up tomorrow and be able to do an assessment.

Have filled up with fuel and now have some figures. solar. By the way Myrtle is a 1981 model. Ok, I travelled 300 ks from a full tank, I have just refilled and it took 38.88 litres. Might as well say 39 litres, I'm sure I could have dribbled that little bit in. So my estimations are it is using 13 litres per 100 ks. The tank is supposed to hold 58 litres so that means I should get 450 ks out of a full tank.
Not as good as I thought it might be, but for an old girl with a rebuilt motor I suppose not too bad.

Thats not too bad, happy wanderer, especially, like you said, considering its age and all. I will base the consumption on those figures. Thanks heaps.
