Today was my check up at the big hospital, all went well
Dr Burmeister got me up on the table and pushed here and there
it was a little sore where the operation had been done in the groin
area, and he did say if it continues to stay sore or get sorer i must call them
and in the meantime if it stays sore till my next appointment in 3 months then he will be looking at doing a scan AGAIN.
So lets hope that in my mind its still just tender in there from the operation
im sure its all going to be ok ,so we are now waiting till 3 month period to go back .
Just a quick thank you to everybody following my updates and for giving me hope and inspiration xxx i think of you all every day out there on your travels and am sure we are going to be there with you all one of these days soon .
In the meantime im putting up a picture of my brother im so so proud of him he used to be a heroin addict from the age of 16 to 19 years old he then put himself in a rehab centre called W.H.O.S and stayed there till he was over 21 he practically ended up running the place in the end because the guy that was running it was put in jail thats a whole other story, but my brother has a huge high place as executive litigation manager for a very well known insurance company and does very well.
he flys to weipa once a year every september with mates and they do nothing but fish ,this is his only time out ,other than that he is constantly flying all over the world, australia you name it hes gotta be there.
so here it is the pic of him at weipa with one of his prize catches of the day .
Great story of your brother not only surviving the drug years, but moving onwards and upwards.
And you will survive and move onward and upward too.
Blessings to you Della.

That's what i like about you Della, no matter how much crap you have to go through, you keep coming back here with a ''Feel Good story''
To sit around the campfire with''The Glassies'' would be a very interesting and enjoyable time ,,
I think you could be right ?? at least some of the pain may be in the mind ? and if the Doctor was worried, he would say check-up in 1 month, not 3 !
You just keep doin wot ya doin ?? girl ! Daryl and Renata.

Glassies, Your brother is an absolute inspiration to many.
Those checks are pretty scarey, but it gets easier when they start to lengthen the gap between them. I had melanoma 20 years ago and breast cancer 6 years ago, so know the feelings but I think you have been through much worse. I hope it all gets easier for you.

Great news Della, fingers crossed for you for the next check in 3 months. Congrats to your brother, it takes a lot of guts to beat drug addiction. It is such a shame so many young people lose their lives to it.
Cheers!

I too missed the groin bit of the story.
And I know how it feels too. A few years ago I was having a procedure done to my heart which required them feeding one of those gadgets through the vein in the groin. He must have hit a nerve because every time he tried to move it, I'd nearly jump off the bed. ( I was supposed to be awake during the procedure) In the end, they had to sedate me. The job was done, and all's been good with the heart since, but I had a very painful and lumpy groin for a long time.

oh the story of the pain in the groin has made me feel better, so im thinking it maybe takes quite some time to get it back to normal.
Im freaking out a bit today, i had that sunspot off my face that was changing and i got a call to say i was in the clear but today ive received a call from the doctors surgery confirming my appointment to go over my whole body for any other suspicious meanies.
I never get a call to confirm ,and the last time i did i got my biggest suprise of all so im a little panicky surely a good outcome of the spot on the face has gone bad ?.
well i will have to wait now till 3.15pm .until then i guess i have to try to remain calm.

aww thank you jim and leonie, gosh you guys are the sweetest along with many others on this grey nomads site, all is good and the doc apologised sincerlely said if ever its bad news or even good news he would be doing the ringing . the reason they rang was because it was a longer appointment and so they always make sure you are going to make it just in case, anyways hes gone over my whole body and seems to think all the moles that i do have are looking quite healthy so there we go i can relax now.
Actualy a friend dropped me her hookah pipe in tonight i actualy was toking on a hookah pipe while i was down at my nieces house in Ourimbah ,it was so relaxing apple flavour or licorice flavour so i was telling my friend she said oh i bought a hookah in england when i was travelling and i am aloud to use it for as long as i like till we sell up and move .
so im now going to google where i get shisha from thats the stuff they use in it (and no its not pot or anything like that ) :)
