Does anyone know of a general fix it type person for motorhomes either around Canberra or western Sydney? I've got an issue with my (brand new) water heater that won't work on gas and a couple of other minor issues. I did have numbers for a couple of guys operating out of the Windsor area - one called Daniel and another called Paul Tall but I lost their numbers when my phone had a meltdown.
Thanks for any assistance.

G'Day; This may be a silly question, but if it is brand new, will it still be under warranty by either the HWS company or the fitter?

Hi Nomadic Paul Tall is at 29 Boscobel Rd LONDONDERRY, NSW, 2753 T: (02) 4777 5344
Just googled.
I would think it should be covered by warrantee if new. Obviously not fit for what it was sold for. Good luck.

What about the Dealer or Manufacturer it has to be under warranty and if just out of warranty a very good term to use when talking to the dealer is that the unit is not satisfactory for the purpose it was intended for also a mention of consumer affairs doesn't go astray

Thanks everyone. I've checked the paperwork and you are quite right it is still under warranty. Unfortunately the fitter is in Renmark so kind of out of the question. Have to find another dealer closer. But I think I'll give Paul Tall a call re my other problems.

Don't give up on your warranty just yet. You may find that it is still covered if repaired by someone else due to distance etc. Check with Paul, he'll probably be up on this sort of thing and perhaps a call to C.A. to check you rights under the circumstances. A couple of 'phone calls are cheap and you may get Paul's bill (or part thereof) covered. For what it's worth.

You can get someone else to do repairs even if not the original with the warranty. I have a friend here at the moment, who had work done in Tassie. When she got up here found there was a bit of a problem. She went to Caseys in Bundaberg who rang the original people in Tassie. the outcome was the tassie company reimbursed her for the work Caseys did.

Maybe contact the supplier or the company who made the HWS and they may refer you to a local repairer/dealer in the area you are in now.

If you are in Canberra, you could try Lloyds Caravan RV Marine Accessories in Fyshwick 02 6280 0655... they've done a couple of jobs for us, and are very helpful.
